Pre-CanSkate (Parent & Tot)

Pre-CanSkate is geared toward children with little to no skating experience. It is designed to introduce children to the ice and help them become comfortable. This program teaches children the basics of how to get up when they fall down, how to move forward, basic backward movement and how to stop. Music, toys and games are used to help children feel ready to take the next step.
  • Open to preschool skaters aged 3-5 years with little to NO skating experience.
  • Children need to be able to stand on their own in their skates (not on the ice).
  • Skaters are on the ice for 30 or 45 minutes at a time.
  • Children are introduced to basic skating through action songs, games and play.
  • Younger skaters may register for this program upon approval of the head coach.

Once a participant has gained confidence and shown skill in gliding on each foot, stopping, and getting up from a down position they can move on to the CanSkate program.
