We’re excited to kick off the 2025–2026 skating season and another wonderful year on the ice with our community! To make it easier for everyone to attend, the Seine River Skating Club has moved our Annual General Meeting (AGM) from late spring to the fall.

📍 Location: Il De Chene Arena - Observation Level
☕ Light refreshments will be served
🕒 Short meeting – all are welcome!
*Prizes will be giving away to those in attendance! Colour pages and snacks available to keep our CANskaters happy.

Your participation is essential to help us meet quorum and keep our programs running smoothly.
If you’re unable to attend, you may designate another individual as your proxy by emailing us at seineriverskating@gmail.com.

About the AGM

The Seine River Skating Club is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization governed by a Board of Directors made up of parents and skaters. The Board is supported by Skate Manitoba and Skate Canada, meets approximately once a month (less in summer), and training is provided.

Board members in good standing also receive a discount on their skater’s regular season registration fees.

🧊 Current Board Opportunities for 2025–2026

We’re currently seeking volunteers to step into the following roles:

Officer Positions

President (Vacant): Chairs meetings, acts as spokesperson, and oversees operations.
Vice President (Vacant): Assists the President and fills in when needed.
Secretary: Keeps official records, prepares minutes, and manages communications.
Treasurer (Vacant): Manages finances, budgeting, and reporting (bookkeeping/accounting experience is an asset).

Members at Large

Assessment Chair: Registers skater assessments with Skate Canada.
Registrar (Vacant): Works with Uplifter software for skater registrations.
Fundraising Coordinator: Coordinates fundraising activities.
Communications: Manages social media and website updates.
Volunteer Coordinator (Vacant): Works with parents/adults to support club operations.

Board Observers

Coaches’ Representative: Provides guidance and feedback from the coaching team.
Club Merch Coordinator (Vacant): Oversees ordering and distribution of club merchandise.

💬 Why This Matters

Simply put — we need your help to keep skating in our community!
If we don’t have enough volunteers to fill board roles, the club will not be able to continue operating beyond this season. We share this not to alarm, but to highlight how important our volunteers are to our skaters and programs.

Nominations must include written consent and should be submitted at least 10 days before the AGM.
You can nominate yourself or another member.

Nominations may also be done in person in site during the AGM.
